This is an introductory course on how to manage a stroke and how to support people who are recovering from a stroke.
This will give participants an understanding of what it is like having a stroke it will also suggest ideas on how to help the people in your care during recovery and even during a stroke.
This is suitable for a variety of healthcare workers including care homes, home care, hospitals, day centres and in people’s own homes.
Anyone wishing to further their knowledge and understanding of Strokes should attend.

- The types of Stroke
- How to recognise a Stroke
- Emergency treatment of a Stroke
- Caring for someone after having a Stroke
- Stroke drugs/treatments available
Course Assessment and Certification
There is no formal assessment although the trainer will check understanding and involvement of all participants throughout the length of the course.
On successful completion of the course students will receive a certificate of attendance which is valid for 12 months.
